ONE FRIDAY STATIONS OF THE CROSS by Jenny Hawke
Jesus is helped by a stranger Mark 15: 21
They pressed into service a passer-by, Simon, a Cyrenian, who was coming in from the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to carry his cross.
The figure carrying the cross for Jesus doesn’t realise the significance of what he is doing. He is taking the weight of the world momentarily on his shoulders whilst Jesus falls and struggles on. The cross glows with a life of its own.
