Creation Part 1

Lord God, in a universe that seems so huge it is so easy to feel insignificant and small. Yet we know that we are precious in your sight. We are unique individuals loved and blessed in so many ways. We are in awe of the one
who has created all things. Accept our sacrifice of praise and worship as we celebrate you this morning. We love you Lord Jesus. Amen

When I think of worshipping our Lord, I think in the first instance of singing. But we can worship creatively with our whole being by moving, dancing, clapping, musical instruments, waving scarves. Why don’t you give it a try? We have put together a selection of songs to worship our Lord. Have fun as your worship, worshipping in whatever way you feel comfortable with or is appropriate for you.

First, let’s read from Psalm 150
Praise the LORD.
Praise God in his sanctuary.
praise him in his mighty heavens.
Praise him for his acts of power.
praise him for his surpassing greatness.
Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,
praise him with the harp and lyre,
praise him with timbrel and dancing,
praise him with the strings and pipe,
praise him with the clash of cymbals,
praise him with resounding cymbals.
Let everything that has breath praise
the LORD. Praise the LORD.

Songs Oh give thanks

O give thanks to the Lord,
All you His people,
O give thanks to the Lord for He is good.
Let us praise, let us thank,
Let us celebrate and dance,
O give thanks to the Lord for He is good.

Stand up clap hands

Stand up clap hands shout thank you, Lord,
Thank you for the world were in.
Stand up clap hands shout thank you, Lord,
for happiness and peace within.
I look around and the suns in the sky
I look around and i think ‘Oh my!’
The world is such a wonderful place,
And all because of the good Lord’s grace.
Stand up clap hands…
I look around and the creatures i see,
I look around and it amazes me,
That every fox and bird and hare
Must fit in a special place somewhere.
Stand up clap hands…
I look around at all the joy I’ve had,
I look around and then it makes me glad
That I can offer thanks and praise
To him who guides me through my days.
Stand up clap hands…

Shout for joy and sing

Shout for joy and sing your praises to the King

Lift your voice high, let your Hallelujahs ring
Come before His throne to worship and adore
Enter joyfully now the presence of the Lord
You’re my Creator, You’re my Deliverer
You’re my Redeemer
You are Lord, and You’re my Healer,
You’re my Provider
You’re my Shepherd and my Guide
Jesus, Lord and King, I worship You

God said, “This is good”, by Peter Ratcliffe. (21.07.17)
(No video!)
God said, ‘this is good’,
God said, ‘this is good’,
God said, ‘this is very good’
When he made the earth,
The sky, the sea,
Every life form there could be.
In the darkness shines a light,
God created day and night,
The morning, and the evening,
The sun and moon so bright.
From the mountains rivers flow,
Trees and plants and flowers grow.
Everything God planned and made,
He spoke and it was so.
God said, ‘this is good’, etc.
All God’s creatures living free,
On the land, beneath the sea,
Birds that stretch their wings and fly,
Wonders to believe.
God is so amazing,
Life to all mankind he gives,
Everyone around the world,

Made to be like him.
God said, ‘this is good’, etc
Oh give thanks
O give thanks to the Lord,
All you His people,
O give thanks to the Lord for He is good.
Let us praise, let us thank,
Let us celebrate and dance,
O give thanks to the Lord for He is good.

Reading : Psalm 33

Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him. Praise the LORD with the harp;
make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre. Sing to him a new song; play skillfully and shout for joy. For the word of the LORD is right and true; he is faithful in all he does. The LORD loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love. By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth. He gathers the waters of the sea into jars; he puts the deep into storehouses. Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the people of the world revere him. For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm. The LORD foils the plans of the nations; he thwarts the purposes of the peoples. But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.

Dramatized reading of Genesis 1: 1-25 (run until 4 mins 20 seconds)

Prayer We come to God with prayer and thanksgiving.

Even though each of us prays in our own homes, our prayers are not solitary when we join together as the people of God, Lord The beauty of Your creation is all around us, sights, sounds, tastes, fragrances; we pause to give thanks for something in nature that has given us joy this week.

Lord You have brought people into our lives, we pause to give thanks for an experience of joy or peace with others
we had this week.

Lord We ask forgiveness for a time this week where we have disturbed or destroyed the peace of another person.
We pray for someone who is on our hearts, who we know is in need of joy.

Lord We pray for a place in the world that is on our hearts that needs your peace.

God of grace, thank you for hearing our prayers and answering them.  Amen

The Lord’s Prayer sung by Susan Boyle

Song: Immortal, invisible, God only wise

Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
In light inaccessible, hid from our eyes,
Most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of Days,
Almighty, victorious, Thy great name we praise.
Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light,
Nor wanting, nor wasting, Thou rulest in might;
Thy justice, like mountains, high soaring above
Thy clouds, which are fountains of goodness and love.
To all, life Thou givest, to both great and small;
In all life Thou livest, the true life of all;
We blossom and flourish as leaves on the tree,
And wither and perish—but naught changeth Thee.
Great Father of glory, pure Father of light,
Thine angels adore Thee, all veiling their sight;
All praise we would render; oh, help us to see
’Tis only the splendour of light hideth Thee.

Song: How great Thou art

Oh Lord my God, when I, in awesome wonder,
consider all the worlds Thy hands have made
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder
Thy power throughout the universe displayed
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art
And when I think that God, His Son not sparing,
sent Him to die I scare can take it in
That on a cross, my burdens gladly bearing
He bled and died to take away my sin
Then sings my soul…
When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation

And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart
Then I shall bow, in humble adoration
And then proclaim my God, how great Thou art
Then sings my soul…

As we take our worship, praise and prayer into our daily lives, may our lives be sustained through the love of our Heavenly Father. May we feel the presence of our Saviour walking beside us and know the power of the Spirit in both our actions and our words. Amen
