Bringing Christ and His love to our communities…

Creating hope, personal peace and new life.

Welcome to our church website

SBC Front

Sunday Service: 10.30 am every Sunday. Since lockdown restrictions eased in the Spring we have been meeting for worship each Sunday. To ensure we observe guidance about ‘distancing’, capacity is limited, so if you would like to join us, please contact us in advance, to book a place. Refreshments would usually be served afterwards, but is currently postponed until further notice.

SBC’s Home Service When these services began last Spring, we did not expect to still be sharing them in 2021. Thank you for all the expressions of appreciation we have received. It looks like we will be continuing them for some time yet.

Open for prayer – The Chapel may be used for prayer when someone is in the office. Those times will vary, so please call us before coming along.

We hope that you are able to find everything that you would like to know about who we are and what we believe as well as what we are doing both at church and within the community.

We are a warm and friendly group of people, relaxed and informal, who like to meet together socially. Our church backgrounds are varied, but as Christians we all feel at home under the Baptist ‘umbrella’.

About Us

A brief history… Sandhurst Baptist Church was founded in 1884 and operated as an independent fellowship for many years. We are constituted within the Berkshire Baptist Association and the Baptist Union of Great Britain. The Chapel was built in the late 19th century – as a temperance hall! – and can accommodate up to 80 people. The Chapel Hall is a separate building behind the chapel, across a small car park. Within this building there is a main hall, a creche room and a small kitchen & servery. In spring 2013 we began a planned refurbishment of our premises, and by the end of October the same year, after much hard graft and teamwork, we had done enough to enable us to host an open weekend.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”

Romans 1:16-17 (ESV)

What we believe…

In one God, the Maker of Heaven and Earth. In the Lord Jesus Christ the Son of God, and in His sacrifice for our sin by His death on the cross; His resurrection, ascension into heaven and in His return. In the Holy Spirit who lives in every Christian, and is the source of our spiritual life. That we are put right with God through faith in Christ alone, which is shown by turning away from sin, and following Jesus Christ. That Christ is the supreme Head of the Church; every believer is equipped by God to help to build the Church. That the Bible is the unique and inspired word of God and that it is our supreme authority in all matters of faith and Christian living.
